Mixed Media Day - Green Team 14-21

May 27-June 2
Weekly Challenge - Little Monsters

This week we are all about Little Monsters over at Cuttin' and Stampin'
We are using  Fancy Pants Be Different collection and Paper Smooches Space Cadet stamp set both of which you can find at the Cuttin' and Stampin' facebook store
Michele from Stuff By Belle here today and I am sharing a get well card for the next time a Little Monster I know is not feeling well.

My card is 5-1/4" x 5-1/4", I cut some different size circles and layered them up.  The scalloped circled is popped up for some dimension.  On the center circle I used the UmWow Studio star confetti mask with clear embossing powder to create the resist when I painted with Distress paint.

All the stamped images from the Space Cadet set are on watercolor paper and water colored with Distress markers.  I fussy cut them and adhered, again some are popped up for dimension.  I added some UmWow Studio star confetti covered in a layer of stickles for a little fun sparkle.

You still have a couple of days to get your Little Monster project linked up on our challenge blog.
I can't wait to see what you create!

Until next time...get inky often!

This week the Cuttin' and Stampin' Design Team made projects with Paper Smooches
Space Cadets stamps and Be Different Paper from Fancy Pants.
You can find these products in the Cuttin' and Stampin' Scrappy Supply Store.

Hi friends!!! Today is FRIDAY!!! It's Scrappin Madge from Madge's Scrappin Lounge!
Who is excited for the weekend? I know that I am! Today is my kids last day of school before summer starts! "Schools out for Summer!!!!" I just had that song pop into my mind LOL.  I created this little Monster Mash mini album for two of the little monsters in my life and that is my nephews Kulia and Hawk! I love these little guys!

This is the cover of my fun mini album!!! Isn't it cute? I just love the large flair button on the front and the monster die isn't he the cutest? To top it off I used some Yummy 3 Girl JAM ribbon  the pattern paper was super fun to work with too.
Here is pages 1 and 2 of the mini! I made this mini out of envelopes.  I took 4 regular sized envelopes and folded them two of them 3.5" in and the other two 3" in.  Then I glued the backs together, this is creating the mini album.
Pages 3 and 4 of the Mini album. I used a large flair button and stamped the fun rocket ship and stars and planet using some fun Paper Smooches stamps.  I then colored them using Copic Markers.
Pages 5 & 6 of this cute mini! I took some fun pattern paper and made the banner piece. I also took some of the Project Life cards and stamped  My Universe and the fun space monster onto the label, taking an arrow from some die embellishments that came in my kit.
Here is pages 7&8 of the Monster Mini!! I again used a PL card, I made a pocket out of the pattern paper, created a tag used some more yummy 3 Girl JAM ribbon, another large flair button and arrow embellishment.
I hope that you enjoyed my monster mini album today! I can't wait to get my instagram pics of my little monsters printed so I can put them in this cute little mini!!!

Step-By-Step Wednesday - Green Team 14-21

This week the Cuttin' and Stampin' Design Team made projects with Paper Smooches
Space Cadets stamps and Be Different Paper from Fancy Pants.

With the end of the school year drawing ever closer, trying to keep my kids interested in reading during the summer is always on my radar.  These stamps are so cute and kid friendly that I thought fun bookmarks may just do the trick!

These were super fun to make and the kids were both begging me to let them make more!  The two on the right are mine....the rest are made by my two children (ages 10 and 7).

To start I did a quick Pinterest search for a template.  Found one, but modified it just a bit to make the measurements even.

Start with a square that measures 5" x 5".  I used cardboard to keep the template more intact during the tracing process.

Next score it at 2 1/2".

Now comes the tricky part.....you need to cut out one square and 1/2 of two more.  I used my ruler to get a straight line.

Trace your template onto the base of your bookmark......I used white, just to make it simple.

Cut it out and either score and fold, or just eye-ball it and fold in the flaps.  Use a bone folder to get a stiff crease.  if you would like patterned paper on the inside, now is the time to cut and adhere that.  To cut the square, I measured just a tad shy of the 2 1/2".

Fold in the flaps.  Only put glue on the bottom side of the top flap.  You don't want your "pocket" glued together and then it won't slip onto your page.  Next you can glue another piece of patterned paper onto the triangle at the top or decorate it anyway you choose.

Then I started decorating!

I used stickles and pop dots, my kids just colored theirs with crayons.  I hope this keeps them interested in their books through the summer.....school will be starting again before you know it!

Give it a try, they are easy and turn out really cute!!  Great for gifts to exchange with their friends in class too!  I see more of these in my future!

Mixed Media : Orange Team 14-20

This week the Design Team used the
Paper Smooches Circle of Honor stamp set and
Doodlebug Patriotic Parade papers in their projects. These
are both available in the Cuttin and Stampin Scrappy Supply Store.

Our new challenge is to make a project
celebrating Memorial Day. There are so many
groups that collect cards for our soldiers and veterans, please
consider making a card for a hero to thank them for their service.

Karen N here from Craftily Yours. Many of you know that my youngest son is deployed in South Korea in the U.S. Army. He's been gone for 11 months, and I miss him terribly. The good news is that he'll be home in about a month, so I used this fabulous paper and stamp set to create him a card.

I used distress paints to create the background. Then I sprayed Mr. Huey's Overdue Color Mist through the lines Tim Holtz Stencil. The fabulous vellum dots helped to tone down that BRIGHT red! The stars are UmWow Studio Confetti Chipboard covered with liquid pearls.

Thanks for stopping by today, and thanks to all of our military and their families. <3

Craftily yours,

Karen
