Weekly Challenge #34 - Friday

#34

Challenge:   Football or Winter Sports

August 27 - September 2nd, 2013

My grandson LOVES all sports, so creating a football card for his birthday was easy!  I used the  Bugaboo digi stamp Football Boy and the sentiment is from the SU set Circle of Friendship.  Cardstock and patterned paper from my stash.  Image printed on Crafter's Companion white cardstock and colored using Copic markers.  A football charm was used to embellish the star.

Football or winter theme sport challenge #34

#34

Challenge:   Football or Winter Sports

August 27 - September 2nd, 2013

Happy Thursday to you!  Lynda here from Positive Force to share with you a card I created for the new footall/winter sport theme challenge going on until September 2, 2013.

For my card I first found this wonderful green cardstock and added white cardstock strips across the front to look like lines on the football field.  I then stamped this cute dog from the Paper Smooches Chubby Chums set onto white cardstock.  I then colored him in using my Copic markers.  I then doodled out this cute helmet that would fit his head and cut it out of Seattle Seahawks blue cardstock...adding it to him.  I then stamped two of the sentiments in this same set onto white cardstock and used the same green cardstock to back the sentiments that I made into flags for the card.

Doesn't he look ready for the big game...like he says "Woohoo....lets PLAY"...  hope you will join in the challenge and enter your football/winter sports theme project into the challenge!  Add your project to this post here.

Please make sure your creation post has a link back to Cuttin' and Stampin'.

You have until September 2 to get your entry in....and be sure to look for the winner post on September 6, 2013.

Happy crafting...Lynda

Challenge:   Football or Winter Sports
August 27 - September 2nd, 2013

Hey everyone, Teresa R. here from Fresh and Renewed...don't you all just love football season. I do, but not for the reason many of you may think...well I have this relationship with sporting events...people ask me who do I pull for and such with baseball, football (both NFL and college)...well this is my answer to them..."I pull for the teams where there is a little one, guy or gal, with Russell blood running through their veins out on that field." So, this coming Saturday is the first football game of the season and I will be out there routing for this little guy in the picture. This is his 5th year playing football...he has grown so much from a little 5 year old that cried everytime he went to practice to a young boy that absolutely LOVES the sport.

My layout is from his very first year playing. I love how handsome he looks in his uniform...and I cannot wait to yell..."GO, STORM!" on Saturday morning!!!

Weekly Challenge #33 Saturday- Monochromatic

#33
Challenge: Monochromatic
August 20 - 26th, 2013

Hi everyone, Doris from Mom's Been Scrappin' here with my project for this week's challenge. Did you ever know exactly what you wanted to make and it just wasn't working? Yep, that was me this week - how hard can monochromatic be, right? It's all one color! I had CASEd a card design that I tweaked a little here and changed a little there...just didn't like it. So it was back to the drawing board for me, and I like this version much better.

Challenge #33 - Friday

#33
Challenge:   Monochromatic
August 20 - 26th, 2013

Hello Everyone. Tammy here from Life - Up, Down and Sideways.  I was really excited for this weeks challenge.  I love creating monochromatic cards.  What was even better about this card is that I used some items that I haven't seen or used in I don't know how long.  I must confess that that my craft room is a complete disaster and that I've been trying very hard to rearrange and organize it.    So my morning routine is to go walk on my treadmill for 30 minutes and sort paper for 15 minutes before I start getting ready for work.  On this particular morning, I started sorting paper first and never made it to the treadmill.  (I think the treadmill needs to find a better place than my craft room).

I actually purchased this Hero Arts Thank You background stamp recently and it was sitting on my table waiting to be put away and I started sorting all my 12 x 12 paper and ran across this sheet of teal card stock.  I bet it's 6 or 7 years old and not the best quality stuff I've ever used.  (Yes, paper sorting stopped and I started to play).

So I stamped the background stamp with Pistachio ink on the teal and then on some cream.  Looked much better on the cream.  Then I went to cut the cream to the right size and messed up.  Smacking myself in the head I took an idea from one of Jennifer McGuire's card classes and just cut the cream piece in two and faked it.

Then I found this discontinued Stampin' Up Flight of the Butterfly stamp set that I purchased and have only used one other time.  I stamped everything with versamark ink and used Hero Arts white embossing powder.  I fussy cut out the butterflies and popped them up with foam tape.

Not to bad for a card that took less than 15 minutes to build.  I was pretty pleased with it.

So now it's your turn to give the challenge a try and enter your creations.  We look forward to seeing them.  For more fun and excitement hit the SHOP tab at the top of the page and see or Weekly Deal.  There will be a new featured deal each week.

Challenge 33: Monochromatic

#33
Challenge:   Monochromatic
August 20 - 26th, 2013

Hi all! Pam here again.. When I saw we were
doing a monochromatic challenge, I knew
right away I wanted to use yellow! I
don't use yellow often as my primary
color, but it just seemed like the color for this!

I used assorted Bazzill cardstock along with some scraps.
All the cutting patterns came from the Silhouette
online store. I made this for a friend who gave my
daughter free music lessons all summer.

Weekly Challenge #33 - Wednesday

#33
Challenge:   Monochromatic
August 20 - 26th, 2013

Kim from Card-E-ology here with another example of a monochromatic card for you... this time in Turquoise!  I live in Idaho where there are fires running rampant and the temperature continues to hover around 100° F, so I opted for a theme of cold weather that I just can't wait for!
I used four different Paper Smooches sets on this card.  I think that's a record for me!  Can you guess them all?

The four PS sets I used are:  Winter Groves, Geo-Graphic, He Said She Said, and Hang Ups.  This card also includes Bazzill Basics cardstock, VersaMark & Memento Bahama Blue inks, Washi Tape from WeRMK, Nestabilities, Copic Markers, and a gem from TPC Studio.

Challenge Number 33- Monochromatic Card

#33
Challenge:   Monochromatic
August 20 - 26th, 2013

Hello My Wonderful Crafty Friends!
Today is my Design Team Day for Cuttin and Stampin Challenges.

Our challenge this week - and I DO hope you'll choose to join in and accept the challenge - - is to make a Monochromatic Card!

I am not sure I've ever created one of my very own although I have always admired them!  So I gave it a try!
Let's take a quick look at the card and we'll go into some details!

I decided to make a simple but pretty in pink card!
I layered two different colors of pink cardstock to form the base of my card and added a very thin strip of this perfectly pink ribbion I had in my stash!
 I then free hand cut
rectangles and ran them through my Cuttlebug. I used the Cricut "Swiss Dots" embossing folder for my center piece and A LifeStyle Crafts embossing folder from the set called "Jubliant" for the two side pieces.
I popped those rectangles up on foam squares to give my card some dimension and interest.

After digging around my stamp stash - I found this cute little sentiment stamp that says
" a Little Hello" that fit perfectly on the edge of my card!
The stamp set is an older one by Hampton Art called "footlongs" and the specific stamp set was Hot Fudge Studio - which sounds really yummy but did not have a thing to do with the sentiments in the set!
Here is one last look at my card to inspire you to join in the challenge!
Now please get busy creating and link up to us and you may win a prize!

Weekly Challenge #32 - Friday

#32
Challenge:  Square Card Challenge 3x3 or 4x4
August 13 - 19th, 2013

Happy Friday, everyone!  Kim Ross from Card-E-ology here to wish you a TGIF!  I hope your plans this weekend include making a small, square card for our challenge.  I had a bit of a hard time changing from the standard rectangular card, but that's what challenge is all about!

For this project, I started out with Bazzill Basics "Two Scoops" textured cardstock in Black Cow for the base and the Smoothies cardstock in Coconut Swirl for the white panel.  The patterned papers and border stickers are all from the "Mac" line from Bazzill Basics.  And the adorable stamps?  They're from Paper Smooches sets called "Fruitastic" and "Sentiment Sampler".  Love those!   The ribbon is beautiful hand-dyed silk from The Thread Gatherer, and the wood button was from my stash.

I know everyone loves Fridays.  Here's my favorite quote about this awesome day of the week, and some good advice to boot:

Make each day of the week like Friday and your life will take on new enthusiasm.  - Byron Pulsifer

Weekly Challenge #32 - Square Cards Wednesday

#32
Challenge:   Square Card Challenge 3x3 or 4x4
August 13 - 19th, 2013

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Tammy with Life - Up, Down and Sideways.

It's my Design Team Day for Cuttin' and Stampin' Challenge Blog!
The theme for this week is the "Square Card Challenge".  We were given the choice to start with either a 3 x 3" or a 4 x 4" square base card to create our card.

I was given a digi stamp from A Day for Daisies.  I was so excited to use it, but I didn't quit know what I was going to do.  But I knew I had a stamp from K. Andrew Designs, Fashionable Friends and it had a great saying about shoes.  So I created a gift card holder for a friend that likes shoes as much as me.

For more information about the details on the card and a picture of the inside go to my blog.

Let's see what you create with either a 3x3 or 4 x4 square card!
