Welcome Autumn!

#43
Challenge:  Autumn Harvest

October 29 - November 4, 2013

Hi..this is Cheryl. For today's challenge we were given the Paper Smooches stamp set "Autumn Groves".  It was a pleasure to use this stamp set. I love fall with all of the leaves, pumpkins, and scarecrows. This set has them all and more. To start off with my card.....you guessed it. I used a top fold A2 card. This card took me much longer to create and assemble because I spent a lot of time stamping on random patterned papers and fussy cutting. I do love to fussy cut! My biggest challenge in the end were the darn birds in the sky. I probably should have left them off or added them at the beginning of my card. Not exactly what I was going for, but it was too late to change anything. Here are a few up closeup views of my card. This was a lot of fun to make. Enjoy!

and here are those darn birds! What was I thinking? lol

And here is my card. Happy Fall Y'all!

Weekly Challenge #43 - Tuesday

#43
Challenge:  Autumn Harvest
October 29 - November 4, 2013

It's harvest time!  We're ready to cool down and watch those beautiful fall colors change from greens to yellows to oranges.  It's such a pretty time, isn't it?  Let's celebrate this special time of year with some fun fall projects!

My card uses Autumn Harvest papers from Doodlebug along with several coordinating colors of solid Bazzill Basics cardstock.  Couldn't resist adding the little owl (also from Doodlebug) and adding little gold gems for eyes.

The "Welcome Autumn" sentiments comes from the Autumn Groves stamp set from Paper Smooches, stamped in dark green.   The branch that the owl is perched on is actually a tree die from the Tree 1 Die set, and the leaves are from the Leaves 1 Die Set.

There was lots of cutting and assembly time put into this card, but it certainly wasn't difficult.  Just a little thinking outside of the box to turn the tree into a tree branch.

We certainly hope you'll join us and create your own Autumn Harvest project!  Please make sure your creation post has a link back to Cuttin' and Stampin'.   Thanks for playing along.  We will be announcing the winners on November 8, 2013.

Challenge #42 Monday - last day

#42
Challenge:  Color Challenge
Orange, Purple, Green & Black
October 22 - 28, 2013

Hi there...Lynda here from Positive Force to show you some projects based on our fun color challenge.

I needed to make a birthday card for my daughter to give to a friend and knew I wanted to use the Falling for You set by Paper Smooches and matching die set.  I stamped the sentiment (from Falling for You and Sentiment Sampler) onto the black cardstock and embossed with white powder.  The two monsters and bat were stamped onto white cardstock and die cut.  These were colored with Copics and Faber Castell big brush pens.  The colors at the bottom of the card are some fun washi tape I had in my stash.

For this card I first embossed the card front using this fun embossing folder.  I then added the black strip that was cut with decorative scissors.  I then cut squares out of cardstock and used a corner rounder on two of the corners to create these fun shapes.  I then added the fun Doodlebug Halloween Parade flair to each spot.

Finally, I have this Monster Love card to share with you.  It features the super cute monster from the Falling For You set and matching die.  The monster is colored with Copics.  I then covered the card front with washi tape to create a pattern.  I then stamped the sentiment directly onto the washi tape.  I then punched three hearts from the same washi and added the monster and hearts to the card using foam tape.

I hope you are inspired to take the color challenge...today is the last day, so hurry and get your entry in!

Cuttin" & Stampin' Color Challenge Week #42

#42
Challenge:  Color Challenge
Orange, Purple, Green & Black
October 22 - 28, 2013

Hi guys.....this is Cheryl. For this weeks challenge with Cuttin' and Stampin' we were given the adorable Falling For You stamp set and coordinating dies from Paper Smooches with instructions to use a black, orange, green, and purple cardstock for our project.

Well, anyone that knows me already knows these are some of my favorite colors. I love fall colors with the beautiful browns, greens, oranges, reds, and yellows. Orange being my most favorite color of them all. The more I make cards I am slowly realizing for me I love working with solid colors and smaller prints and let the stamps do the talking.

For my project I started out with a piece of black card stock cut down to 4.25" x 11". It was then scored at 1/2", 1.25", 2", and 6.50".  I folded on all of the scored lines with the exception of the 1.25" line. This will only be used if you mail your picture frame. This score line will allow you to fold the frame flat in order to fit in an envelope for mailing.

For the inside I cut a layer measuring 4" x 4.25" and adhered this down. For the front of the frame I used my oval Spellbinder dies and cut three desending sized ovals frames and matted them together.

I then used a tree limb from my Paper Smooches Autumn Grove stamp set (that you will see on a later project) and stamped this on a gray tone paper and fussy cut it. I also stamped my bat on a pattern paper and used the coordinating die to cut it out. Googly eyes were adhered to the bat....he is sooo cute!

From there just a splash of color using a few punched hearts. I also matted the verse from the Falling for You stamp set on the bottom of the frame with the same paper that I used to make one of the hearts with. I then added some Glossy Accents on the three hearts.

Lastly I added a heavy adhesive along the outside of the initial 1/2" score line and attached it to the inside of the opposite end of the triangle shaped frame.

I am going to use this for a picture of my Grands from Halloween, but it could be used as a card if you choose too also.

That is it! I totally love this frame and plan on making these into a Christmas themed picture frames for my Grands to attach a picture of themselve and give to our family.

Well, I hope you have enjoyed my project as much as I do. As always I would love for you to subscribe to the Cuttin' and Stampin" Blog here, to "like" their Facebook page please click here, and if you would like to shop and purchase one of these adorable Paper Smooches stamp or die sets too, please go to the Cuttin' and Stampin" online store here.

Challenge #42-Thursday

#42
Challenge:  Color Challenge
Orange, Purple, Green & Black
October 22 - 28, 2013

Teresa R. here from Fresh and Renewed. Well, I have a new obsession...getting my planner ready for next year. As I was thinking about it and deciding how I plan to utilize my planner, I came to the conclusion I need some order in my life...some organized order. So, I was going to put my blogger planner pages in my regular planner but then took a step back and thought about how I would use it...so I came up with the idea to create my own blogger planner and have it be a 6x6 planner. With that idea came the thought I need to make everything myself cause planners...well they just don't come in that size. So for my dividers I am going to use 6x6 paper pads and this challenge this week lent itself perfectly to creating the divider for October.

On the little purple tab over there I will stamp the word "October."
I could not for the life of me find my stamp set that has the months on it.

Supplies Used:
Spectrum-Noir Markers
Paper Smooches "Falling for You" Stamp Set
Doodlebug Halloween on Parade: Paper Pad, Doodlepops, Flair, On the Web Washi
and the Purple tab is 2 back to back sticky notes taped together...haha

Challenge #42 - Color Challenge

Challenge:  Color Challenge
Orange, Purple, Green & Black
October 22 - 28, 2013

Hello Crafty Friends.  Tammy here with a new challenge for you.

We are getting pretty close to Halloween and it's time to get those special projects started for the little goblins.  Well that was the idea when this challenge was created.  I decided to use the colors and featured stamp sets to create a birthday card for a friends 40th birthday.

I started with the colors and the Paper Smooches stamp set Sugar Rush.

I stamped 3 separate cupcakes and candles and colored them with Copics

I used the Doodlebug paper on a black cardstock base.

I added another cupcake on the inside of the card as well.  I distressed the edges with grape ink.

Challenge #41 Monday Monday

#41
Challenge:  Chalk Board
October 15 - 21st, 2013

Hi everyone, Lynda here from Positive Force to bring you another set of cards based on our Chalk Board challenge.

I really like how this paper feels in your hand, the chalkboard surface is super fun to play with.  For my first card I stamped the three dots from the Fascinators stamp set into the corners on the piece of charlkboard paper.  I then went over the dots with some liquid pearl so they had dimension.
I then stamped the banner from the Fascinator stamp set onto white cardstock and added the sentiment from the Sentiment Sampler set; also from Paper Smooches.
To assemble the card I picked these wonderful Prima flowers I had in my stash and added some liquid pearl to the center of each of them in a coordinating color.  They were then added to the card front using glue dots.  The sentiment banner was then added to the front using foam tape for extra dimension.

For my second card I decided to use various pieces from different patterns of the chalkboard paper.  The card based was trimmed first; leaving the fun banner shape along the top of the card. I then trimmed the "Happy Happy Happy" from another piece of chalkboard paper and added it across the front of the card.  I then cut the three balloons from the back side of the chalkboard paper; aren't these the cutest patterns on the reverse!  The balloons were added with foam tape and twine for some extra dimension.

Today is the last day to get your entry into the challenge...be sure to link up your creation here.
