Challenge:   Children's Birthday

Dates:  April 30, 2013 to May 6, 2013

Teresa here from over at Fresh and Renewed to kick off our Children's Birthday week. I have been holding onto this adorable image for just the right way to use it...I do not own this cartridge yet but it is certainly on my want list. The image comes from Teddy Bear on Parade a fairly new cartridge for the Cricut machine...yes I am "old school" and do so LOVE my Cricut and Gypsy!! So here is a cute and adorable little card that I intend to hold onto until I have just the right little sweet girl to give it to.

Challenge:   Cinco de Mayo Projects

Dates:  April 23, 2013 to April 29, 2013

This week we are getting you ready for Cinco de Mayo. I thought this would be a great time to share a project that I have started with all of you. When I was a child my parents and I used to travel every other summer for 6 weeks. We would drive in a van and camp. We drove all over the United States, Central America, Mexico and Eastern Canada. I recently found my scrapbooks from when I was a child that included postcards and a few photos from these places. Today I took one of the postcards from Mexico and created a cute page with it. I am working in 8x8 format since I don't have many photos. This is just going to be a small scrapbook of my favorite items from those years of vacations. So they will be better preserved and I am having a lot of fun remembering all those crazy trips!

PRODUCTS USED:
Prima Marketing flowers
Green letters- Bo Bunny Press
Black numbers- Making Memories
Green paper- mulberry paper

Challenge:   Cinco de Mayo Projects

Dates:  April 23, 2013 to April 29, 2013

Here in the Midwest, there aren't many community Cinco De Mayo events... I'm sure there are in the Hispanic community, but I did some research and found that it is quite the celebration. Celebrates the music, food, and the amazing battle at Pueblo. I made this card with many colors as in the dresses worn by dancers during the celebration. I put some stickers that reflect the music, colors, etc. of the area. I know when I was in Mexico at one time, it was 105 as we walked through the shops and town. In Mexico, the schools shut down, and it's a holiday! Many areas of the Southwest celebrate in a big way as the battle was the last one where a foreign country invaded any where in the Americas, and kept USA as it is, rather than breaking up the large expanse of our country. So here's to my Hispanic friends.. Have a safe and enjoyable Cinco De Mayo.
To find out more about my project, head to my blog: http://janetscreativeworld.blogspot.com/ where there just may be quite the party there...

Weekly Challenge # 16 - Thursday

Challenge:   Cinco de Mayo Projects

Dates:  April 23, 2013 to April 29, 2013

Hello, Hello, Hello!
This is Teresa, from CreateEnjoyShare.blogspot.com and I'd like to welcome you  to my post for Cuttin' and Stampin' Design team today.  I am so glad you stopped by.
Coming up in just a couple of weeks is Cinco De Mayo (May 5th) and we were asked to create projects to celebrate this holiday.  Well, as you can probably see by my blog design, I am a big fan of margaritas and Cinco De Mayo is the perfect reason to enjoy them!
I have a local family run Mexican restaurant that I frequent and have had the opportunity to get to the know owners/staff.  Today I created a poster that they can hang up to advertise the specials they will be offering on Cinco De Mayo.
Let me show you my project and I'll give you more details!
The name of my local restaurant is LaPinita, so when I found a cut file for this cute Pinata  I knew that was the perfect image to use on the sign!
This restaurant is decorated in very bright, cheerful colors and I wanted to create the sign so that it would blend right in with their style.
I added a "googly eye" to the Pinita's face and attached  the Pinata to the base of the sign with foam squares to give it dimension.
Sorry for this being rotated, but in my photo editing it was facing the correct way, but I could not make adjustments here in blogger!

I loved the arched Cinco De Mayo topper I found in the Silhouette store!  I welded letters together to form the word, "specials".

There is my finished sign! It will be fun seeing it hanging in the restaurant prior to Cinco De Mayo!
Cheers!

Weekly Challenge # 16 - Wednesday

Challenge:   Cinco de Mayo Projects

Dates:  April 23, 2013 to April 29, 2013

Kim Ross here with another fun Cinco de Mayo project!   As many know, one of my favorite stamp designers is Kim Hughes from Paper Smooches.   I incorporated stamps from two of her stamp sets in my card.

My project, by the way, is proof that you don't need to have specifically "Cinco de Mayo" stamps to play along with us.   Come up with creative ways to use what you have... that's what makes this a challenge!

The lime is from Wake Up and the sentiment is from Good Gab, both sets from Paper Smooches.  The patterned paper is from Lawn Fawn while the cardstock is all from Bazzill.  Last but not least, the fun puffy stickers with the Tequila, lime and Margarita are from MAMBI.

This totally excites me when it does that cause not only do I get to plan fun decorations but I get to have a fabulous Mexican menu all day long!! So this is going to be the menu board. In the blank area I will put a tag to change out for lunch and dinner with the menu displayed.

Challenge:   Thank You Cards

Dates:  April 16, 2013 to April 22, 2013

Hello Crafty FriendsTammy here with a quick thank you card for this week's challenge.

I attended a Crop for Cancer held at S.E.I.'s warehouse last weekend with a great bunch of friends and we had a really awesome time.  While I was there I created this quick card.  (Yes, it was the ONLY project I managed to complete.)  I should stop taking all my crafting stuff and just take junk food.  All I do while I'm there is chat and munch.

So being at S.E.I.'s warehouse of course I just had to purchase some of their great paper for my creation.

The stamp has the entire flower on it.  But I really wanted to add something more to it.  So I threaded the button and glued it on.

I hope you enjoyed this very quick and simple thank you card

Challenge:   Thank You Cards

Dates:  April 16, 2013 to April 22, 2013

Hi everyone, Doris here to share a few little projects today.  I like to keep some ready-to-go basic cards in my stash, don't you?  This way I can grab and go when I need a quick card, and today I have two Thank-You cards
I just added to my stash.

I used a Hero Arts card base and wanted some color, and
I grabbed some VersaMark inks and a few washi tapes.

For the second card I also used a Hero Arts card base and
the same VersaMark inks along with some bakers twine.
To give the card some dimension, I used a 2" scallop circle
punch on the front and added the sentiment
to the inside.  Ba-zinga!  Two thank you
cards for my stash finished in less than 5 minutes!

Challenge:   Garden

Dates:  April 9, 2013 to April 15, 2013

Hello! Design Team member Janet here! I hope you're enjoying our trip to the garden! Today, we're visiting my "potting shed". It's a cute stand up, dimensional card that I know my friend who happens to be a Master Gardener will love for her birthday next week!  Take a peek!

See what I mean? The roof comes out, the shelf stands out... anyway.... I used a free cutting file from Creative Kuts.com and on Facebook. This was one of the recent BAP's. (Build A Project) Every Monday and Tuesday there is a free file, you get the file, post your project, then you can join in the following week.. Files include cards, 3-D items, layouts, etc! I used an Amuse Stamp Set to add the birdcage, the bird on the perch, and one to chirp the sentiment. This set has 10 sentiments as well as a branch, nest and bird bath!!  I added some bling to my flower centers, and around the sentiment! All paper is from a DCWV called Linen. The cardstock looks so rich and some are glittered as well. Thanks for stopping by today and I hope we've inspired you to create your garden project and share it. At least with paper flowers-everyone has a green thumb! Including me!

Challenge: Garden

Dates: April 9, 2013 to April 15, 2013

Hello Everyone. This is Tammy and I'm glad to bring you another piece of inspiration dealing with garden. I first must tell you that I scrapjacked this idea from a Pintrest search and Chelsea's Creative Corner.

I started with a French Roast card stock base. I cut it at 4.25" wide and 11" long. I scored it at 5" and .75" to create the matchbook look.

I used the A Hundred Wishes stamp form A Muse Studio and white embossing powder for the dandelions. I used a Copic marker and colored the pearls in the center of the flowers.

I used Pink by Design Garden stamp set for my sentiment.

Here's the final result. I will pick up a package of flower seeds and attache it to the inside of the matchbook and give it to a friend.

Now it's your turn to create a garden themed project.

We'd love you to link up and join our challenge!
