October 100 cartridge Blog Hop

Hello Everyone and welcome to My Cricut Craft Room’s 100 cartridge blog hop day ONE.  Over the next two days the design team from My Cricut Craft Room will showcase projects that use 100 + cricut cartridges.  Each member of the team will use at least four separate cartridges.  Many of them will use more, because no one can use just one.

Before we get started, I would like to take a minute and talk about the month of October and Breast Cancer Awareness.  We all know that October is designated Breast Cancer Awareness Months, but for all women, it should be every month.  It’s SO important for women of all ages to do monthly self examinations.  Women over 40 need to have annual mammograms.  As I was informed recently, “I’m of THAT age” and so earlier this week, I went for my annual mammogram.  Early detection is what saves lives.  Please be vigilant in taking care of yourself and encouraging the other women in your life to do the same.
So back to the HOP.
You should have started at My Cricut Craft Room.  There are plenty of stops along the way and I’m number 15.
You should have arrived from Teresa's Blog
This month I picked Heritage, Hello Kitty Font, Shall We Dance and Songbird and the four Cricut cartridges I would use to create projects.
My first project is an anniversary card.  I used Songbird to create the label and Heritage for the 25th.

I tried to color over the silver numbers with stickles to make it sparkle.

My second project is a continuation of an album I’m working on for a Christmas gift.  I know, you all are going to get real tired of seeing vacation photos.  I created two more pages.  The first page I used Animal Kingdom and Hello Kitty Font.  I used some distress ink on the animal words to try and give them some texture.  It’s hard to see and I’m not sure you can even tell.  Attraction, was cut out of the rounded Hello Kitty Font.

The third project is…. Yes, another album page.  This picture was taken is Nevada City, Montana.  It’s a place where the state of Montana has been relocating old buildings to creating a restoration place with a hotel, bar, train station and other business.  I just had to go with the sign on the building.  It's hard to read, but it says "Cheap Cash Store."   I used Hello Kitty Font and Songbird.

This fourth project was something I created for work.  We have been playing Walk-the-Block Monopoly for our monthly health and wellness challenge.  The number of blocks you walk in a day is how many times you get to roll the dice.  We renamed all the properties on the board to match project the company has designed.  I reworded all the Change and Community Chest cards to go with our company as well.  The rest of the rules remained the same.   This week we all gathered and took our turns for the last week of September.  The top eight with the highest net worth, cash and property value, were the winners.
Here’s the prize.  A gift bag with “Franken Coins” and a Visa Gift Card.  The card was held to the back of the bag with the brad.  I used Heritage for the outside of the monopoly sign, Shall We Dance for the top hat, Nate’s ABC’s for the letters and Indie Art for the dice.

I tried to use a black pearl pen on the dice, but just made a mess.

I punched a hole in the middle of the topper and through the gift bag to insert a brad.  This worked well to hold the bag closed and then once at work, I just un-folded the brad, placed on the gift card and re folded it down.  To say the least, the bags were a hit.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Your next stop is Cathy's Blog.

Here is the full Saturday line up in case you get side tracked along the way.
