July 31 - Card Creating Tuesday

Hello Everyone, welcome to Card Creating Tuesday for My Cricut Craft Room.  I have crated a very simple kids birthday card using a number of cricut cartridges.

I started with the airplane from the Wild Card 2 cartridge.  There are a lot of pieces to cut to create the plane.

I used Country life to crate my grassy mountains and CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge for the tag.  The sun was cut from the H2O cartridge and cut it in fourths

I used A Muse Studio stamp set Essential Sentiments for my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today.  For more card inspiration please stop by Erica's Blog, My Cricut Craft Room.  There will be more design team members with wonderful projects.

Olympic Blog Hop

Hello Everyone and welcome to our Olympic Blog Hop.  This a great way for us crafters to show our support for TEAM USA.  We are proud of everyone that has given their time and determination to become the best of the best and compete at the highest level.  I hope you all will find some inspiration with our fun projects.

You should have arrived here from Erica and My Cricut Craft Room.  If not, start there and visit all the stops along the way.

Last week I showed a party invitation for the night of opening ceremonies.  Now I needed to add some party favors.  Only problem is that they had to be small and travel on a motorcycle to our party place.  I decided to build cupcake toppers, or more like M&M bowl favors.

I started with George and Basic Shapes to cut out my rings.  I cut circles at 3/4 of an inch and then used a 5/8 punch to cut out the centers.  Trying to put 3D foam dots on the back was not my best idea.  Very long process.

I then used Sports Mania to grab the team and Stand and Salute for the USA.  The words are covered in red stickles.

I used Heritage for the gold, Pink Journey to get for and the Soccer Solutions cartridge for the GO.  I'm really glad that I'm able to hide the parts of the cut I don't need.  I sure had to search around a lot for the right parts and pieces.

The base of the toppers is from Elegant Edges.  I kept trying to get the Olympic rings to fit in a circle topper and finally had to concede that it wasn't going to happen.

The stick is some 1/8 inch dowels that are cut in half.  I secured them onto the tags with some terrifically tacky tape.  Then used three layers of foam tape between the front and back labels.

Here are my three versions.

I hope this inspires you to create something to cheer on our USA Olympic Athletes.  GO USA!!!!

There are more stops along the way.  Here is a complete list of stops if you get sidetracked along the way.  Erica has blog candy at the end so be sure to make all the stops.

Sleepover Layout

Hello Everyone,

This is my design team post for My Cricut Craft Room.  I must admit that I've learned a few things this week while working on this layout.

1. When creating a project at a crop, if you do not finish, place everything in a zip lock or sealable bag so you don't lose any pieces.
2. When using the gypsy, save every thing until the project is completely put together.
3.  If you must have a drink on the table it must have a sealed lid.

In case you haven't guessed, after dinner, I spilled diet coke on my base page and then I lost the "d" in pedi.  I spent 3 hours recreating the piece I lost.  So lessons learned this time around.  Are you ready for the pictures yet?

I started with the Batman font for the lettering.  I cut out the shadow twice and placed foam squares between the two shadow layers.

The No Boys sign is created with Going Places and Printing 101.  I keep seeing the sign hanging off a door knob and this was a close as I could get.

I used some sticker from Reminisce for accents.  The pattern paper is a combination of Imaginise, Jillibean Soup and Doodlebug Design.  The solids are Bazzill.  Here's page 1.

On page 2, I used the Batman Font again, Hello Kitty Font and Kate's ABC's font.  I wanted each word to be a little different. Then I left a large space for journaling so she can write down who was there and what they did.

Here is the whole layout together.

Remember to stop by My Cricut Craft Room for more ideas and inspiration for sleepovers.

Thanks for stopping by.

Water Park Scrapbook Page

Hello Everyone, can you believe it's Friday?  It seems like time is flying by.  I'm so excited about being on Eric's team.  Today is Scrapbook Friday for My Cricut Craft Room and I have created my very FIRST scrapbook page.  I'm not joking.  I've created quilts and cards and many other things, but never a full scrapbook page.  So I'm glad you're all with me and can give me some advice on things I can improve on.

I started with paper from Close to My Heart.  The Caboodle paper has been discontinued, but it brings a smile to my face.  Here we have a water park by the name of Ragging Waters.  The park has a wave pool and a beach backdrop.

I cut the sand castle from  Life's a Beach.  The words come from H2O.

The Sun was also cut from Life's a Beach.

The stickers are from Paper Bliss.

For more water park inspiration check back with Erica at Erica's Craft Room

Two Bundle's of Joy Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the Two Bundle's of Joy Blog Hop.  We are all so excited to celebrate the twins that are due to arrive soon.

If you just stopped by, please start at the beginning with  Nicolette's Blog.

I wanted my project to be something creative but very practical.  Every mom needs diapers.  So here's what I started with.

My supplies are, one cupcake tower, 6 girl and 6 boy onesies, 12 pair of socks, 24 diapers and 4 binkies.

To create the cupcakes, I laid out the onsie.

Tuck the sleeves in and fold the shirt in half.  Then fold the shirt in half again.
Roll the shirt up real tight, like a sleeping bag.

Place a rubber band around the bottom to hold the roll together.

I then wrapped some paper around the cupcake and glued on some ribbon.  I rolled two diapers together the same way.  With the diapers as the top layer, I held them all together with a strip of paper 3 inches high.

For a special cake topper, I used the binkies, floral wire and a bamboo stick.  I alsoused some Wilton baby rattle party favors and stuck them into the top of the diapers.

I hope this onesie and diaper cupcake tower gives you some inspiration for the next time you need to create a baby gift.

Your next stop on the hope is Miranda

Thank you for stopping by today.
If you get lost along the way, here is the complete hop line up.

July 7 Cricut Craft Room Creation

Hello Everyone.

Today is my first post as a design team member for My Craft Room.  The theme for today was to use an exclusive Cricut Craft Room digital cartridge.    I used the Track and Field cartridge.

I wanted to create invetations for a party we are having opening night of the Olympics.  So for a really great Olympic invite I needed to build the rings.  For those I used the All Mixed Up.

I used stickles in Gold, Silver and Bronze for the metal colors.

There are others on the design team that have created great projects for insperation.  Please check them out by visiting Erica's Craft Room
