Challenge #40 - Wednesday

Challenge:   Breast Cancer Awareness
October 8 - 14th, 2013

Hello Everyone.  It truly amazes me how a pink ribbon and the promise to a dying sister more than 30 years ago has grown into this massive movement of awareness and early detection.  As a result we are able to celebrate many more survivors.

I believe that all of us have been touched by some form of cancer and it seems like this month more than any other, we all try to do our part to increase awareness and encourage women to go for mammograms.

I have created a card to uplift the spirits of a friend currently fighting this battle.  I hope my small note will giver her strength and encouragement during the tough times ahead.

I started with a Date Swirl card base and matted it with the Slipper pink from Bazzill.  I used the Watermelon Sensation and Marshmallow on the three squares.  I use the Paper Smooches Hope die cut for the word and the Hope stamp set for the sentiment. I then covered the die cut word with diamond glitter.

As I create this post, I hope and pray that this wonderful campaign to increase awareness and early detection will continue to reach more and more women every year.  I don't believe we will ever get rid of the cancer, but we will be able to save more lives.
