Weekly Challenge 32 Square Card

#32
Challenge:   Square Card Challenge 3x3 or 4x4
August 13 - 19th, 2013

Hello Crafty Friends! Teresa Kaufhold here from www.CreateEnjoyShare and it is my Design Team Day for Cuttin' and Stampin' Challenge Blog!
The theme for this week is the "Square Card Challenge".  We were given the choice to start with either a 3 x 3" or a 4 x 4" square base card to create our card.

My Godson and his long time girl friend just got engaged and I am very close friends with

his parents, so I wanted to send not only my Godson and his Fiance' a congratulations on your engagement card, but one also to the parents of the groom.  They are quite excited to be planning a wedding for next August!
Today I'll share with you both cards I created - first the parent's card - which is my 4 x 4 inch card!

Here is the front of the square card.  I found this precious file from the Silhouette America store and just knew it was the one I wanted to use!
Using foam squares to give dimension and an "I Rock" gem as the diamond in the ring case, it is a
simple yet sweet way to send congratuation wishes to the parents of the groom!
Here is the inside of the card:

And a little closer so you can read both sections:

I embossed hearts on a silver metalic cardstock and then "fussy cut" it out to
add just a little extra to the inside of the card!
Now, for the card I sent the Bride and Groom to be!
Just a slightly larger take on the same card idea!
The following card shows the dimention of the embossed
hearts and how I used foam squares to pop up the couple.

 Here's the "diamond"!

 The sentiment inside:

I wish sincere congratulations and best wishes to Cory and Kristen as they begin this
exciting year of wedding planning!
Let's see what you create with either a 3x3 or 4 x4 square card!

Weekly Challenge #31, Saturday - Prima Dolls

#31
Challenge: Prima Doll Challenge
August 6 - 12th, 2013

Hi everyone, Doris from Mom's Been Scrappin today with a little project for this week's challenge - Prima Dolls.  I know they're all the rage and I was so happy to get my first Prima Doll stamp, but then what?  She's pretty big for a stamp, but when I started looking at the creative things everyone is doing with them, I rolled up  my sleeves and jumped in.

I decided to do some paper piecing for her outfit and use a few scraps of some specialty paper and trimmed them with some flatback pearls; some glitter stickles for her headband and shoes and she was done.  I added a ribbon flower I made but she still needed a little something, so some Prima pearls were it.

So tell me how I did with my first Prima Doll and show me yours!

Aug. 9th Prima Doll Janet Royer

Week 31
Prima Doll Stamp

Hello! It's back to school time for many and today I made a Bookmark for my granddaughter who is truly a book worm! I think she'll love this cute Prima Doll stamp and with some school themed stickers to remind her to Learn, Read, and Achieve, and will continue to be the great student she is! I used Copics to color the girl and clothing. Added some bling to the dress front and the headband. Everyone loves their new clothes the first days of the school year! Maybe we should never outgrow that and shop for ourselves but these days I'm more into crafts supplies and the hottest stamps on the market such as these! Weekly Challenge #31-Thursday

#31
Challenge:   Prima Doll Challenge
August 6 - 12th, 2013

Prima Doll Stamps created by Julie Nutting are all the rage right now.  There where five new stamps just release last month and a little set of angelic wings and whimsical boarders.  So this weeks challenge is to create something using the Prima Doll Stamps.

This is Teresa R. from over at Fresh and Renewed. I wanted to get in on this challenge however, I am going to tell you right up front...I flunked coloring in both Pre-K and Kindergarten...and it didn't get much better from there! But, I love these doll stamps and wanted to try my hand at them. A friend stamped hers for me so I could be in on this challenge.

Well, here is how things went! First let me tell you I have all the coloring tools a gal who doesn't color well could want....colored pencils! Two kinds to be exact! Stampin Up markers...the entire collection mind you! Bic markers, and even some Close to My Heart markers. In that entire collection of markers not one...no not one marker that was exactly the right color for flesh!

I started out with a pale flesh colored pencil...not exactly right, so then I tried to correct it with various other colors on her legs...well that did not go very well so she is wearing tights! And not exactly the right color I may add to go with her outfit. But remember how I said a friend stamped it for me? Well you got it...she only stamped 1!

Anyhow, I was kind of pleased with the rest of the coloring...flesh color is still a little off but overall pleased. She is going to go in a scrapbooking paper collection called "Sisters" from Echo Park. It is a present for my sister later this year when I get to go visit her for 2 weeks when she moves into her brand new house. I get to design, set up, and decorate her scrapbook room. So excited about that!!

some little girls and I thought it would be a
fun way to use these great stamps!
I made 2 giant tags as cards:

Prima Doll Stamps created by Julie Nutting are all the rage right now.  There where five new stamps just release last month and a little set of angelic wings and whimsical boarders.  So this weeks challenge is to create something using the Prima Doll Stamps.

This is Tammy from Life - Up, Down and Sideways.  I received my Prima Dolls in July while I was on vacation and couldn't wait to get home and play with them.

The particular stamp I used, Swing Dress Doll, reminded me of the local high school choir dresses.  So I thought to make a fold out card that would have the pretty girl on the front and then open up to show a show schedule.  I started with a manila file folder.  Then I put magnets on the back so that it will stick to the locker or refrigerator door.

I colored her with Copic markers then used crystal stickles to cover the top of her dress.  Then used blue stickles for her shoes.

The stamp set was from A Muse Studio and the paper is from Bazzill.   You can purchase your Prima Doll Stamps from Teresa at Scrapping For Less.

Weekly Challenge #30 Saturday - Clean and Simple

#30
Challenge: Clean and Simple Cards
July 30 - August 5, 2013

Hi everyone, Doris here today.  I've been very brave lately and stepping outside my usual comfort zone on some challenges, but Clean and Simple has always been my go-to style for cards and layouts. I was so happy when I saw this challenge on the design team schedule :)

I love washi tape, don't you? I think it took me longer to pick out which washi tapes I wanted to use than to make the whole card. I used a Paper Smooches stamp set, black ink and a few strips of washi along with a few dots from a few copic markers....done.
Show us your clean and simple creations! Please make sure your creation post has a link back to Cuttin' and Stampin'.
