House and Pair

I was working on one more card for challenges this weekend.  I was going to use this for the Disney Cartridge Challenge, but I was to late for that one.  Then there was the "New House" challenge at Celebrate the Occasion. I have notes from another challenge with a couple on it, but I can't connect to the blog.

If anyone has a suggestion on keeping track of what challenges are out there and the URL's I would greatly appreciate it. I've been writing everything down in my notebook and I've missed some deadlines.  I guess these are some rookie mistakes that I have to learn to get past.

Spring & Something Funny

I was trying to combine a couple of challenges.  The first was CCCCC #11 and use the Forever Young Cartridge.  The second was Wacky Wednesday #32 Something funny and then all the other various challenges wanting something for Spring.  So here was my idea.
I was thinking of using the card to ask my workout buddy if she's ready to get started hitting the pavement again.

I'm having real problems with my cricut and getting seriously frustrated.  One time it will cut great and the next it just tears the paper.  When I try to cut small letters, it just tears everything.  I've tried changing the pressure and the speed and just can't seem to get it.  Any suggestions?

Well, off to get one more card done for the day.

Tie a bow challenge

I wanted something really springy, feminine and fast for my card party invitations.  I tried to make a purse into a card on my gypsy and realized I just wasnt' that talented yet.  So I went to the local scrapbook store for more ideas.  I was surprised to find out that they had a room in the back full of die cuts that the customer can use for free if they purchased the paper their.  I found this shirt card die and figured I could make it work and then spent two hours looking for just the right paper and ribbon.  By the time I was done, I felt like I should have paid rent or a least bought them lunch for all their help.  I used three different paper patterns and mixed and matched the ribbon to create 25 invitations.  I used some tiny pearls for buttons.  I printed off labels with the party information for the inside to save time.

I like the invites that were made with single sided paper the best.

I figured I tied quite a few bows this weekend, so it would be good to enter them into the My Craft Spot Challenge #1.  The only problem is, I missed the deadline.  So here's to needing to get my work done a little sooner.

Some Things I've been working on.

Between work, taxes and rugby, I have managed to work on a few things.  Nothing I could put in a challenge, but just some ideas that have been floating.  I wanted to get 12 cards done so that I would be ready for the next cards class, but that didn't happen.  I've tried to take pictures of the cards with my cell phone and then e-mail them to me, but the phone I have is a royal pain.  I then forwarded the pictures to the on-line my Verizon storage so I could down load them to my computer.  Did that, and when I went to upload them, I was given a message that they were to small.  Grrrrrr.  At this point, Mother's day may come early for me and I'm going to get me another Blackberry.  Don't know what I was thinking letting that little gem go.

So here's one picture that actually worked.  Everyone in my class was asking for boy cards, and baby cards.  I figured this could be for either.

On a happy note, Rebecca from The Crafting Misfit asked me to be a part of her Blog Hop on April 11, 2011.  I'm so excited.  The them is "A New Season, A New Skill."  The idea is to try a new technique or use a new type of product.  I guess we will all be venturing outside our comfort zone and learning something new.  I can't wait.

Also, I've been working with a blog designer and I hope to have a new looking page shortly.  Not that I have a whole lot here yet, but I hope to keep expanding my projects and other things.  I will try to post some more pics shortly. (After I pry my kids Blackberry out of his sleeping hand and take some pictures :)

Thank you Momo

WOW!! What a great thing that Made by Momo is doing for those of us with only a few followers.  I think this will be a great opportunity for me to get acquainted with other bloggers and see what wonderful ideas they have.

I'm so excited about gathering more friends that I'm going to set a goal of 200 followers and come up with some really great blog candy when I get there.  Leave me a comment on what you think is great blog candy to receive and don't forget to put that "Momo sent me"  I will work through the list on the Made by Momo site as fast as I can.  I will visit all of you.

I hope to become more active with my blog, blog hops and challenges as soon as tax season is over.  What ever made me think that I could start something like this during this time of year I'll never know.  I guess it was my wish to use card making as a stress relief during the busy times.

It's Wednesday!

Hello crafting world.  It's been a week and in that time I've managed to rearrange my crafting supplies and make one card.  I keep an on-going list of challenges thinking what would work for each and end up with one thing.

I really liked the Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge #7.  The challenges make me look at all the cartridges and see more possibilities.  I really liked the hi-top shoes and just had to use them.  I kept thinking about the pair I had way back when and how cool I felt with them.  Of course the peanut gallery made the comment that "Mom was never that cool."

The other challenge that I kept coming back to was celebrate the occasion. Which was use green, white and one other color for any occasion.  So my sneakers are green, white and blue.  I keep thinking I should change the occasion to sneaking by to say hi, or something like that.

My hope for the next week is to work on my blog and put in some info about me and pictures of my other creations.  I want to learn how to put links on my side bar and some other stuff like that.  If you have any suggestions, feel free to drop me a line.  Hears to having a really good productive week.
