CBD - Anything Goes with Vintange Easter/Spring Twist

 Grab our Badge

Hello Everyone,

We have lots of new sponsors this year and we are so  excited to welcome Ignacio from Nicecrane Designs:

A word from our sponsor:
"I am a Photoshop Instructor, and all over I am a passionate of Graphic Design, I started designing scrapbook products and templates for Photoshop and at the end I decided to change to Digi Stamp World,,,,,I am a single man,,,,,,and all over I am surprised to know there are only a few men working on this business it sound curious to me,,,,,,,,,,,,,I love it."
Ignacio is generously providing a $20 gift voucher to our winner!

Our sponsor today is was very generous and gave me a Vintage Easter Greeting set.  I used one of the graphics to create a great little card.  I wanted to pull the off white out of the picture and inked the doilies with a color called pebble and then misted it with some Tattered Angels Sparkling Silver. I used a some paper out of my stash to pull the red and greens out of the picture.

Here's the greeting I started with. I just love the sentiment.

Here's the finished card. I think it turned out well.

Do not forget to upload your project into the Mr. Linky thingy on the main Crafting By Design page.  Or you can add your project to our Flickr group HERE.
This challenge will be open until April 2nd; we will select a winner from all the entries.
Important reminder: Please read our rules as they have changed.

Thanks for playing along with us at Crafting by Design.

Hello All My Fellow Crafters!
This is Teresa Kaufhold, from  www.createenjoyshare.blogspot.com .

I hope this finds everyone healthy and happy! Well it is now officially

SPRING
and we at Cuttin' and Stampin' are getting into the Spring Mode with using
pretty Spring Like Colors as the Challenge this week!
Let's take a quick peek at the card I made for you today using some spring time colors!
I know that I am eager for the weather to start behaving like Spring,
but here in the Dayton, Ohio area it has not happened yet.

It will be nice to get outdoors and I am hoping my foot will soon be able to
allow me to get outside for some walks!

I made this card with this cute bicycle for my daughter, who loves to bike.
She's going to school in Boston and rides her bike there quite a bit.
I used the Amuse Studio Stamp set called Vintage A Muse.
(Available by shopping with Tammy HERE!!)

I colored the bike in using colored pencils and made it yellow since
my daughter's bike is yellow. I inked the edges yellow as well.
Although it is not showing up very well, I used a touch of the color
green on the kickstand on the bike.
I used the sentiment "Keep Calm. Ride On" from the same stamp set as well.
The pretty sky blue paper is from Amuse Studio as well...I just love
the weight of their paper.
Check out that pretty ribbon that I tied around the card!
Yep, also from Amuse Studio -

and it is called Chevron Bermuda.
So pretty!
Where is the PINK in my Challenge Project, you may ask??

Well, I stamped my name stamp in PINK INK on the back of the card, but SILLY ME-
forgot to take a photo of it!  I am so sorry!
But you are challenged to use the colors
PINKBLUEGREEN AND YELLOW ,
on your project!
Please be sure to include all the colors in your project and be sure to show
us that your project contains all the colors!
Again, My Apologies!
I hope this gives you a bit of inspiration to get working on some spring time projects
using pastel colors!
Please visit my blog to see some of my other projects as well!

Challenge:   St Patrick's Day.
(it does not have to be an A Muse stamp set)
Dates: March 12, 2013 through March 18, 2013

Hey everyone, Daphne here today. I hope everyone had a great weekend.
Are you getting ready for St. Patrick's Day on Sunday? Don't forget to wear green so you don't get pinched.
Today I wanted to share with you a layout I did using some photos from a weekend that a couple of my girlfriends and my daughter and I spent together over St. Patrick's Day a few years ago.

I used the Cricut to cut the shamrocks, tickets and title. The green glitter is Stickles. The inking is done using Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads. The little pearl swirl in green is from Zva. The white pearl droplets are Viva Decor Pearl Pens. The journaling block and grey strip are from Heidi Swapp.

Challenge:   Use Flowers.
(it does not have to be an A Muse stamp set)

Hi Cutters & Stampers!  Kim from Card-E-ology here with a very soft, pretty flower card to bring us into the weekend and get us all thinking about Spring projects!

The focal image of this card was created using a technique called "Emboss Resist".  I embossed the image & sentiment first with white embossing powder.  Then I swiped a paintbrush across the paper with various colors of paint.  Before it dries, be sure to wipe off the embossed portions with a paper towel or tissue.  Last, I like to quickly dry the wet paint with the heat tool to keep the colors from seeping under the embossed area.

On this card, you'll see one of my favorite Amuse embellishments:  The polka-dot sheer ribbon.  Love that stuff!  Also featured are the Friend to Friend stamp set, the Venetian Background stamp, and the oval Nestabilities from Spellbinders.

Challenge:   Use Flowers.
(it does not have to be an A Muse stamp set)
Dates: March 5, 2013 through March 11, 2013

Hey everybody, Daphne here. This week's challenge is to use some flowers in your project.
Both layouts I used the flowers from the Friend to Friend stamp set.

This layout is of my mother. I stamped the flowers on some pink and turquoise A Muse paper.  Then I fussy cut them. I made a little bunch of flowers out of them. I used some turquoise ribbon across the bottom and as a bow on the rose at the top. The little saying: "You are Special" is stamped on the bottom right corner. The letters of my mother's name are cut using the cricut and A Muse pink paper.

This layout is using a couple of pictures of my boyfriend and I over our first year together. I stamped the little flowers on the tag at and then attached the tag to the layout.

I hope everyone has a great week and I have inspired you in some small way to get out there and get crafty!

Challenge:   Use Flowers.
(it does not have to be an A Muse stamp set)

Dates: March 5, 2013 through March 11, 2013

Hi everyone, Doris here from Mom's Been Scrappin'.  Can you believe it's March already?  That means spring will be here soon, my favorite season! Some of the flowers in my yard have already started to pop up, and that helped me get inspired for this week's challenge - flowers.  I made several cards to share with you today to get your inspiration going:

I tried to mix some bright colors for this card and love the a.muse orange chevron ribbon against the card base.

Supplies used:
a.muse studio cardstock
copics
a.muse stamp set Springtime Day
a.muse chevron ribbon
memento ink, black
pop dots

I don't know what made me stamp the image on the doily, but once I did I loved how it looked and wanted to keep this card simple, and added just a little elegance with the ribbon and pearls.

Supplies used:
kraft cardstock
paper doily
flatback pearls
sheer/satin ribbon
a.muse stamp sets Springtime Days and Contemporary Greetings
memento ink, cocoa

Some fussy cut roses that I copic colored and popped them up on top of the embossed cardstock base, then distressing it just a little with some sand paper.

Supplies used:
a.muse cardstock
embossing folder
copics
memento ink, black
a.muse stamp sets All for Love and Studio Sampler One
flatback pearls
stickles
pop dots
